The OnePlus 3 is officially getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update and the phone will also get updated to the OxygenOS 4.0 ROM that is based on this new Nougat OS. As mentioned in the OnePlus forums, the update is being rolled out as an OTA update. It was the open_beta 10 version, i.e. the beta version of this update being sent to those who wanted to try it out, and that was a manual process but now, it is the over-the-air update where you just have to wait for the update to arrive and download before you hit the install button.
We are starting the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 4.0 (N) for the OnePlus 3. Here are the changes for this build.
Here are some highlights:
- Upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat
- New Notifications Design
- New Settings Menu Design
- Multi-Window View
- Notification Direct Reply
- Custom DPI Support
- Added Status Bar Icon Options
- Added Quick Launch for 3rd Party Applications
- Improved Shelf Customization
Now, since this update is an OTA one and there are no files available to download and install the update manually, you could try out one option if you are from one of the regions where the update is not being sent instantly. Germany is getting the update already and in India, the OnePlus 3 Android Nougat update is still taking some good time.
So, want a short way to get the OTA update? Use a VPN to do that. Opera VPN can be a good help because it can help you change your region and even if you are in India, you can make it show that the device location is in Germany and the update will arrive in no time. Download the VPN app and change the region and then head to the Settings > System Updates to see if there is an update, and one will be waiting for sure already.
