Nougat OS although being a highly expected Android update, unfortunately most manufacturers failed to release the Noughat update and until now, the total number of smart devices that released Android Nougat haven’t exceeded 8% of all UNTIL TODAY!
By the statistics hold today on 7th of July, the margin 10% is already passed for the update since a lot of very well known devices like Samsung, Asus, HTC and many other, started releasing Android 7.0 for the most commonly used devices which made the overall percentage grew out of 10% margin!
But still, the Nougat update did not get the success it deserved! Marshmallow is still the most used Android OS version in the world for hundreds of smartdevices running with Google’s operation system.
Below we will be presenting you a chart of all the versions of Android in percentages but before that, we would like to clarify that Nougat 7.0 version is more than 90% of all the Nougat powered device while in less than%10 of all Android 7 is running on 7.1.0 or 7.1.1 instead of 7.0.0.
Here are the real numbers you would want to see;
- Version 2.3.3 Gingerbread runs in only 0.7% of all the Android devices in 2017
- Version 4.0.3 Ice cream and 4.0.4 Sandwich just like Gingerbread update, hold %0.7 of overall number
- Version 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 JellyBean Is Occupying a total of 8% of all
Kitkat 17% and Lollipop 28% being the closest number to the frontrunner Marshmallow 6 updates and taking the Nougat to the third place with Nougat operated devices being around 11% of all.
As we see, when the latest Android update Android Oreo 8.0 is on its way, the earlier versions Marshmallow and Lollipop still outranks Nougat with a considerable difference.
